2016 Summer Research Opportunity

The Integrated Optics for Undergraduate Native Americans is a National Science Foundation funded research experience for undergraduates at the University of Arizona. In addition to the hands-on experience gained in the world-class laboratory and  Native American focused workshops, a stipend of $5,000 is available for successful participation in the full 10-week program. Further, for those students, travel to and from the university will be covered. The 2016 Indigenous Knowledge Field Camp (IKFC)

The IKFC is an indigenous cultural immersion experience to examine participant’s unique perceptions and beliefs in an effort to recognize the intersections of Native Traditional Knowledge and Western science through a three-day experience on traditional Nez Perce land, including the Salmon River. Activities will provide opportunities for increased cross-cultural understanding through presentations, talks, and individual exploration of stories on Traditional practices and ways of knowing.
