WSU Pullman celebrates Coug Moms virtually

This weekend (April 3-5) coincides with what was previously scheduled to be Mom’s Weekend in Pullman. We know it has been hard for Cougs to miss out on their first, or fourth, weekend celebrating with their Moms and others who support them.

We will still recognize and celebrate our WSU Coug Moms, even if at a distance!

We received over 170 nominations for our Mom of the Year Award. Keep an eye out on Saturday, April 4th at 10am when the awardees will be announced on WSU Pullman social media. We are grateful to BECU for sponsoring our Mom of the Year Award.

Whether you nominated your mom or not, feel free to show us how much you love your Coug Moms and others who support you by using the hashtag #WSUMomsWeekend. We know these celebrations will look very different this year, but we also know they will be full of Cougar Pride.

We are also looking forward to Fall 2020 and how to further honor all our Coug family members. The weekend of October 10th is currently scheduled as Dad’s Weekend. We encourage all students who will be in Pullman to invite their moms and all family members, so we can celebrate our Coug Families together this year.

We want to remind students and families that although we may miss the traditional activities of WSU Mom’s weekend, our Cougar Community must adhere to Governor Inslee’s 30-day extension of the Stay Home, Stay Healthy Order. Travel only for what is essential. Students who live in university-owned residence halls and apartments do not need to move out personal items for the time being.
