SUMMARY:Science Alliance Leadership Training (SALT) 2017
DESCRIPTION:Apply for 2017 SALT in ATLANTA by August 7th! \nLeadership skills are essential for success in the STEM fields\, but the development of these skills are often unknowingly neglected by STEM graduate and undergraduate students. This is especially true of students from underrepresented minority groups. To help fill this leadership gap Lockheed Martin has sponsored a special session of the New York Academy of Sciences\, Science Alliance Leadership Training (SALT) program in Atlanta. All STEM graduate and exceptional undergraduate students are eligible to apply. \nThe first program of its type\, SALT Atlanta is a 3.5 day program designed to familiarize students in the STEM fields with the leadership concepts that will allow them to effectively advocate for their career. The program will feature: small group exercises\, a leadership development plan\, a keynote lunch\, networking opportunities\, community building among participants\, and a site visit to Lockheed Martin Facility in Marietta. \nThis program is open to all STEM graduate students and exceptional undergraduate students\, who have completed at least 2 summers of research projects. Applicants from all STEM fields are eligible to apply for this event although students from underrepresented groups and students in the fields of software engineering\, mechanical engineering\, data sciences\, and computer sciences are strongly encouraged to apply.
