DESCRIPTION:This year’s featured speaker will be Mark Trahant\, a Native American journalist and faculty member at North Dakota University who will speak on “Environmental Justice.” \n  \nTrahant is a member of Idaho’s Shoshone-Bannock Tribe\, and a former president of the Native American Journalists Association. He has served as editor of the editorial page for the Seattle Post-Intelligencer\,. and is a former columnist at The Seattle Times and has been publisher of the Moscow-Pullman Daily News in Moscow\, Idaho; executive news editor of The Salt Lake Tribune; a reporter at the Arizona Republic in Phoenix; and has worked at several tribal newspapers. Trahant reports and comments on events and trends on his blog at TrahantReports.Com and on and other social media. He does a weekly audio commentary for Native Voice One. \nIn addition to Trahant’s address the January 21st Breakfast will include presentation of the Rosa Parks Human Rights Achievement Awards and presentation of winners of the Martin Luther King Jr. Art and Essay Contest. \n  \nT
