SUMMARY:Creating a campus culture to mentor Native students effectively
DESCRIPTION:This event brings together two leaders in the movement to develop a more enriching and intentional environment for Native students in higher education to discuss the research-based methods of fostering such an environment. Their primary focus will be the empirical approaches to guidance\, support\, and advocacy for Native students. Dr. Nick Sanyal\, an Associate Professor at the University of Idaho\, is a current member of the social science research team of the Pacific Northwest Alliance that is commissioned to investigate mentoring of Native student in STEM disciplines. Kevin Kicking Woman is the University of Montana’s College of Humanities and Sciences Bridges to Baccalaureate Program Coordinator. Lunch will be provided for those who RSVP.
