Isolation and Quarantine Guidance for Students and Employees

If You Test Positive for COVID-19 (Isolate)
All individuals, regardless of vaccination status, must:
- Stay home for 5 days.
- If you have no symptoms, or your symptoms are resolving after 5 days, you may leave your house.
- If you have a fever, continue to stay home until your fever resolves.
- Continue to wear a mask around others for an additional 5 days.

If You Were Exposed to Someone with COVID-19 (Quarantine)
If you are boosted or recently* vaccinated:
- If you remain asymptomatic you may return to a WSU location, provided you:
- Wear a mask around others for 10 days, and
- Test on day 5, if possible.
- If you develop symptoms, get a test and stay home until you receive your test results.

* Recently vaccinated individuals are those that have completed both doses of the Pfizer, Moderna, or WHO-approved 2-dose vaccine series within the last six months; or have completed the single dose of the Johnson & Johnson (Janssen) or WHO-approved single dose vaccine series within the last two months.
If you are not recently vaccinated OR unvaccinated*:
- Stay home for 5 days.
- Test on day 5, if possible.
- Continue to wear a mask around others for an additional 5 days.
- If you develop symptoms, get a test and stay home until you receive your test results.
