What kind of test is it?

The test involves a simple nasal swab, not the nasopharyngeal test that many people indicated was uncomfortable. The nasal swab may cause your eyes to water or make you sneeze but causes very minimal discomfort.

The laboratory analyzes the material collected by rt-PCR, which amplifies the genetic material from the virus and identifies COVID-19 using a unique set of markers specific to the virus.
