WSU cancels summer education abroad programs for 2020

  • March 17, 2020

The difficult decision to cancel all education abroad programs for Summer 2020 was reached by International Programs and the Executive Policy Group after consultation with the United States Department of State, the Centers for Disease Control, WSU Infectious Disease Task Force, and the Whitman County Health Department.

The university is trying to provide full program fee refunds for faculty-led programs.  All program fee refunds will take place by removing the charge for a program fee through the Bursar’s Office. Any payments that have applied to the program fees being removed will apply to other outstanding charges first.  If there are not any outstanding charges on the account, a refund will be issued. Global Learning application fees have also been refunded.

Students are encouraged to work with the Bursar’s Office on any billing-related question, and are asked to allow for a few weeks for the removal of fees to appear correctly on accounts. The office can be contact by phone at 509-335-9653 by email at bursar.office@wsu.edu. The office is not accepting drop-in or in-person appointments due to directives related to COVID-19.

The university’s Global Learning program is operated by the Office of International Programs, and is not part of the WSU Global Campus. The decision does not affect summer school programs offered at any of WSU’s campuses.

Questions related to Global Learning can be addressed to ip.globallearning@wsu.edu.
