My new favorite band.
alright, so I downloaded songs of the band I sat next to on the airplane... and they are GREAT! I love them... just smooth good rock... little piano, little electric guitar, little acustic guitar, some singing, some drums, you know the drill. so check em out!

boring? hardly
I dunno, I just got done reading some of ryan's blog... and I just got some ideas...
a lot of people complain about how boring their life is, how mundane and lame it is... well it can be at times, but think about how intricate it is also. maybe it's the fact that I just got back from the louvre and the beauty and awesomeness of some exhibits in it are... but whatever it is... everyone's life has so many different parts and pieces. everyone enjoys different things, and hates others. I hate pickles. my brother loves em. I hate capris. Kara loves em. you get the picture.
wait, that wasn't where I was trying to go with this blog update, but I was just writing. anyways... people have sides to them that are crazy and explorative. people want to do something fun and maybe a little foolish just for the rush... it's a part of everyone... what that may be changes for everyone. I personally have no problem jumping off a 30ft cliff... to some people, that is just crazy, and they'll never do it. but I'm sure they will do other things that I won't do. but not only are they open to different foolish and crazy things, but they also need something to trigger it. people don't usually go looking for foolish things to do... it is something that happens as a product of a situation they are in... whether it is a group of people hanging out, and one chimes in abou skinny dipping, and they do it. or if it is a person so bored out of their mind that they drive hours out of their way to visit someone they care about. and no, I'm not hinting at anything... punks.

you know how it is... punk
alright, so let me recap my last few days, and just blog about whatever... because this is my space... so leave if you don't want peter... because that is what you're gonna get!
I started out my adventure by staying up all night playing warcraft, which is a LOT of fun! then packed about an hour and a half before I left. I got to the pullman airport, which consists of horizon air, and that's it... so I walked up to the counter and checked in, but they could only check me in through Newark... so confused, I took the boarding passes and sat down... and hour later I boarded the nine row plane, and sitting in row nine I had some space to move my legs, with me and one other guy in the back row, which had 5 seats, we had some space. I found out that he was a truck driver, who dropped off his truck in lewiston, and was flying back down to cali to pick up another truck... goodtimes. oh... and I forgot to mention, I had no carry on for the first time EVER in my life... I had everything in my pockets. which was 3 pencils, a pad of paper, my passport, spanky, wallet, gum, and boarding passes. so on this flight, spanky and I talked for a while and I began to design possible designs for my next tattoo. we arrive at sea-tac, and I find my gate... no problem. I find something to eat(caesar salad and water) and I sit down and notice a cute girl eyeing me. I begin to eye her back and eat at the same time, which is usually not a very hot thing to do... at least very few people can make eating look sexy. she was sitting next to her parents, so I figured she was too young, and went to throw away my trash and then sat down in a new seat with my back facing her giving her the preverbial "maybe if you were a little older" back. I then got on this plane to Newark, which was an exit row(YES! legroom!). so I find my seat and I have the aisle seat of a 737-800, which has 3 seats on the side, so I had two people next to me... one was asleep(already, jeez this guy doesn't waste time) and a young woman reading a book... so I sit down and look over at her... now, this may be just me, but when someone sits down next to me, I look up at who it is and nod, smile, or even introduce myself. this woman... nothing. kept reading... so I look down at her book, trying to get something out of her... some kind of notification that she knows I exist. nothing. so I just accept the fact that this lady is rude and sit back to enjoy my new found legroom that is the exit row. about a hour and a half into the flight, the guy(window seat) wakes up and she looks over and kisses him, he then motions to get out, and she turns to me and motions that he needs to get out... so I stand up and she introduces herself and he himself, a young married couple... turns out that he is a commercial fisherman in alaska for two months out of the year, something to do with a vineyard in california, and a columnist in New York, and they were going back home in New York after the fishing season. WOW, this guy does 3 things that are all great! A. he's a fisherman in alaska! that has to be just awesome! b. california... a nice place to be. and c. THEY LIVE IN NEW YORK!!! cmon, that is just AWESOME! I want to live there someday, and not only do they do this, but he does the other two also! now that is just awesome! so we talked a little more, they watched some movies and I just sat and talked with spanky and drew more options for my next tattoo.

I just had a glimpse at my itinerary, and didn't print it off... so I'm walking around Newark trying to find out what airline I'm on... so I see continental has a flight, so I go to that line, and the guy said I had no reservation, so I thought "CRAP, well, I am in New York(pretty much) so all is not lost" and that was the only flight to paris that was on the departures list. so I head over to Air France, which is the other possibility for me... so I head over there and get into line... which went through the weave, and along the wall from one door to another... yeah, it was HUGE! so after standing in line for a hour and a half, I got my boarding pass, which was a miracle, because I didn't even know I was flying air france... but God is good. so I headed to my gate and picked up a pretzel... now yet again there was an attractive girl eyeing me, so I eyed her back... I went up to the desk, which was like 20 ft from where she was, and she was directly facing it... you know, to ask if there were any exit row seats open... but this flight had no exit row seats, it's an airbus. alright. so as I was walking away I look at the girl, and she looks back at me, now in this moment of pure passion, I think of nothing better to do than take a bite of my pretzel... so I do, and in doing so I took some of the wrapper with me and walked by... a minute later I realized I ate the wrapper and chuckled to myself. soon after this, the fire alarm begins to go off, and I jump a little bit in my seat, you know, because I'm really jumpy. so I sit back and look for a black guy. because you know, if a black guy is running, you should be running too, at least that is what a stand up comedian told me. so after seeing no black people running, I just chill and look around... in fact, NO ONE moved, no one even flinched. everyone just sat in their seats and waited for their flight to be boarded. after about ten minutes they began to board my plane, and I cut in front of about 40-50 people and headed aboard. I find my seat and sit down... kinda tired because I hadn't slept the night before, I just chill... then comes up these two guys speaking another language and looking just loud and crazy... they had the punk look. so I let them in thinking to myself "aw man, these guys are gonna be loud and annoying this flight, ugh... but maybe they'll be cool" so I say what's up and introduce myself... they do the same and I ask where they're headed and they respond with "home, sweden" and I think, cool! sweden is fun, although, I know absolutely nothing about it. they begin talking in swedish and then begin talking to me, and we end up cracking jokes to each other for most of the flight. it was a lot of fun. those guys are just cool... and guess what? they're in a band and they were playing some gigs in New York. I sat next to the lead singer named Tob, well, his real name is thorbear, but he goes by tob. thorbear? cmon, that name is KICKASS! tob had sharpie notes written on his arm and was just chill... that guy is funny. we just sat back and made jokes. goodtimes were had on that plane ride, course, being in coach and having a kid in front of me, I had the head rest tv in my lap and no room for my food... which was quite annoying, but this was an overnight flight, so I was able to move around while everyone was asleep and I went into the back and just chatted with the flight attendants... goodtimes there too... flight attendants are really nice people.
alright, so that was my expedition back to paris... more to come later, time to go to the library of america or something.

Ending time: 3 a.m. ugh, 2 hours till airport!

ok, so I take off for paris in less that 24 hours and I'm scared. this trip is going to work my insides like no trip ever before. I am facing things I never thought I could... I am finally facing who I am, and it's going to SUCK.
Think of the neverending story, except without a princess... yeah, the nothingness has taken over everything, except only the ivory tower suvives... but wait! there is no point, there isn't a princess for me to rescue or bring a cure to. I have to face the deepest darkest part of my being, and come out alive... somehow.
except on the planes. I love planes. planes actually REALLY make me happy... all the random people you get to look at, sit next to, sometimes talk to... and.. FREE POP! what could be better??? then there are the airports! I LOVE airports. more random people also going somewhere, some important, some not important. but they are all going somewhere, and how odd that is that we bring them all to one building. I love airports.

I believe that somewhere out there, there is someone perfect for me. not perfect where we never fight and are always happy, because that will never happen... ever... but perfect being that I will Love them so truly and fully and they will love me so truly and fully that when we get in arguments or fights, that we can work through them. does that make sense?

cliffs are fun!
so yesterday started out with me filling out a job application... which I haven't done since the theatre in 10th grade. after that I went and turned it in, and accidentally left the lights on in danes car. after that I went out to the cliffs with ben, and some friends and did some cliff jumping, and ended up swimming across the snake river... probably about a 3/4 mile swim... ugh, longest swim I've ever done. then, on the other side of the river(no roads or anything) I was climbing the rocks(barefoot) and put my right hand on the slope, and was reaching for my left hand hold and balancing on my right foot about to put my left one down when I hear something that I've heard at one other time in my life... in death valley. the rattle from a rattle snake. I step back and look down and there is a rattle snake, right where my left foot would have been. the second time I've come within one step of a rattle snake.
after that we headed to safeway, where they were all out of general tsao's... but the lady behind the counter had an extremely white smile...
so there you go. that was my day yesterday. I almost died twice(the snake and swimming farther than ever, seriously, I could have died doing that)
and no one commented. so no one wins.

I started out the day doing something I've only ever done once in my life... and that was 10th grade. after that I did something slightly less amusing than danielle at wendy's... after that I did something that reminded me of my best friends and a whale. then I pulled a senior year alex and almost died when I did something for the second time in my life... the first was at a place that I sold a large amount of chocolate bars to get to. after that my day slowed down and I noticed that a good friend of mine(who can be found at the beginning of a store, or in a lineup of army peoples) was gone... but it was ok that my friend was gone because there was a girl there that reminded me of ross lighting up a room, which made me smile(and hope the same didn't happen to me)... then I watched the real world and now I'm tired, and I have been tired for like half an hour. so If you could piece up all but this sentence and the last one, to say what I did today. go nuts. again... the right one wins(I doubt anyone will get this)... and the most creative wins too.

relationships
alright. well once again I don't know where to begin, so I'm just gonna write.
lets start off at the beginning. meeting someone new is a hard thing to do, here's why.
a. people are bias and judge you immediately, everyone does it, everyone tries to hide it.
b. if it is someone you want to impress(for example, a possible LOVA(haha, will farrell in a hottub just flashed into my mind) then you try to hide your downfalls and accentuate your positives.
c. not knowing where to draw the line with jokes or physical touch... usually causes shyness and lack of touch. both of which usually are a bad indicator.
d. trying to find common ground to talk about and to build a relationship around.
In the end, everyone wishes(well everyone who is a good person and wants true friends) for a friend that they can trust and have fun with. at least, that is what I look for.
anyways, I got distracted by IM for a while, so I completely lost my urge to write a lot and my train of thought. so I'll leave you with a few more thoughts.
this is not an easy topic to tackle... hell, look at primetime tv. all you have is relationships. and how they work.
another thought. next time you meet someone and it seems sorta weird. give em some slack, they're probably trying to impress you.
alright, I'll tell the story... you didn't have to twist my arm. today I went on a date(I dunno if I should call it that, but whatever, for the time being, it was). I'd hung out with her once before with a group, and we knew absolutely nothing about each other other than names :)... now, usually I'm a pretty crazy guy who commonly uses horrible puns and does crazy stuff normally. now, today, I was nervous(trying to impress) so I listened, and cracked a joke here and there.
all in all I believe it went well and I enjoyed myself. now sparks weren't flying all over the place(like they COULD be if I was being completely myself and not shy and she's into me) anyways. it was a good date, but afterwards I thought of plenty of things I could have said that were hilarious(well, I was laughing)... and it happens a lot. anyways.
anyways, as time goes on and people become more comfortable and trusting of each other, the true them comes out. so give it time if nothing else... if you think people are cool or fun at the beginning. get to know them more, and you can uncover some awesome stuff.

anyways, that isn't the reason for the title. over the last 4 or 5 days I have flipped my sleep schedule. which means I have been going to sleep between 10-1 and getting up between 7-9. whoa. yeah, I thought the same thing. aliens abducted me and switched me out with someone with a normal sleep schedule. weird.

there actually are people in pullman.
so last night I hung out with some people that I met earlier this weekend, and we had a barbeque, then went to the pullman fireworks show. I'm expecting about 2-3 hundred people there... we show up and we have to park half a mile away or more from the park, and ALL of pullman is there. it was a great show, and if next year I have someone to take, I definitely will. because it was gorgeous. then I came home and played wow.

anyways, If ben says I'm asleep. it probably was true. I've slept 30 hours of the last 54 hours I've been alive.
that's right. 30 hours of sleep... and want to know the kicker? That was only 2 sets of sleeping.
last night I went to bed about 4-4:15 p.m. and I woke up about half an hour ago. quality sleep there. the night before that, I had been up for 36 hours before falling asleep, so keep that in mind. I fell asleep at midnight 30 and erik tried to wake me up at 10:30 and I got him to leave me alone, then woke up at 6:30 that night. then stayed awake 22 hours, which brings us to the beginning of last night's sleep. funtimes that sleep is.
welcome to the life of me. oh, and I got a WICKED sunburn yesterday at the cliffs. 30 foot cliffs into the spokane river. goodtimes.

unlike hershey's
have you ever wished that you could change completely? wish you could change where you're from, who you are, or the path that you are currently on? sometimes I think about how much different and exciting life would be if I were in a different situation... sometimes I'm even in a hole and thinking that it would be so nice without all the crap that is currently in my life...
but then I think some more and I think that the next situation would have more or worse crap and then I would have to change again. is that what life is? escaping from your current position? I don't believe so.
while we all can say that crap is in our life. we are all dealt a hand, and while they all aren't royal flushes or four of a kinds, that is no reason to fold. we can get rid of the bad cards and draw some new ones. chances are, if you fold and set out for a new hand completely, it very may well be worse than the one you are currently playing. you don't have to have the best hand in order to win. you have to know how to play.
just thoughts from my day. may not make sense to anyone else, but such is life... everything is going by so quickly in the mind, and when you try to espress it to someone else, it gets lost in translation.
I've decided to make a new game.

I watched war of the worlds last night, and tonight I watched the shawshank redemption. why? name that seguey. the right one will get a congrats, and so will the most creative. go nuts.
